Gorky once said that “Books are the ladder of human progress”. Reading is thefoundation of learning and the basic conditions for the future work. In the era of developmenteconomic、information and globalization,social competition is talented person’s competition.However, talent training through education. The family is the first stop of the child growing,and the parent-child reading is the starting point about the lifetime study of children. Jerrychris in the united states said “geniuses of the first method is to teach children love reading”.We must study “parent-child reading” for the importance about children’ reading.In this study, infants0-3years of Baoding families as the research objects, based“parent-child reading” research in the domestic and foreign, through questionnaires,interviews, case studies, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, to analyze theinfant’s family parent-child reading. First of all, from the concept of parent-child reading, theenvironment, reading books, participating personnel and methods to start reading, describethe current status of infants Baoding parent-child reading. Secondly, this research accordingto the result of questionnaires, investigation and interview case study sums up the problemsexisting in the parent-child reading and analyze the problem. Finally, in view of the problemcauses put forward the corresponding recommendation.The results of this study showed that, this area’s quality is higher, family readingattracted attention of many parents. But there is a problem still exists: parents reading concepthave problems, a large part of the family do not have a fixed reading time and place, read theenvironment and atmosphere is missing, parents buy books unscientific, read parentingmethods arbitrariness, lack of scientific guidance. For the above situation, this study suggeststhat we will strengthen the importance of parent-child reading, pay attention to thecharacteristics of the child’s language development, appropriate choice of reading material forthem and improve the method of reading, create good reading environment.
