With the relevant literatures and case analyses, extensive researches are made on the evolving purpose in the middle and elementary schools in China, and the related thesis is written including five Chapters.The first chapter is an introduction to the background, present situation, research purpose, significance, theory and method of the evolving purpose.The second chapter gives a definition, features and functions of the evolving purpose. The purpose is defined as the objectives of subjects and teaching, resulting from the process of education. It is the results in problem solving and the internal requirement in the process of experiences accumulation, which is characterized by its process and inheritance.The third chapter discusses the evolving mechanism of the purpose, including its features and conditions. At first, Stresses are laid on its four features and their relations, i.e. openness, complexity, opportunity and relationship, among which complexity is decided by opportunity and relationship, and relationship affects opportunity and opportunity increases the openness. Nevertheless, their relationship is not linear, but as complicated as network. Then detailed discussions are made on the evolving conditions from six aspects, among which the design of the flexible objective is the premise, the educational situation is the basic condition, the interaction and conversation in teaching are the necessary conditions, and various strategies and dynamic teaching evaluation are the key and supporting conditions respectively.The forth chapter is about the execration of the objectives. As there is no fixed mode, it is rational for students to have self-controlled time and space in teaching so that the students well be mentally active. Evolving results from the teaching activities to inspire students'study initiatives and participation in teaching, and teachers'introspection of their teaching behavior. This chapter also covers the execution of evolving purpose in teaching interaction, life, situation and research.The fifth chapter deals with the relationship in the execution of the purpose, mainly about the relationship and tension between the pre-designed and evolving purposes, and the discarding of arbitrary evolving. Further more, it also analyses the relationship between guidance and evolving. Their relationship is dialectical, that is to see, the execution of the evolving purpose does not mean the abandon of the teachers'guidance. No teachers'guidance, no new purpose.
