School-based teaching and research is not only an important way to bring about an advance in schools and teachers'professional knowledge but also a main method to solve problems that appear in New Curriculum Reform.This article will summarize the definition, basic characteristics and general rules of school-based teaching and research by using the method of documents. It also studies the current situation of school-based teaching and research and cases of teachers'development by using the way of questionnaires and interviews. That means it analyzes what biology teachers in high schools did in school-based teaching and research and their understanding and practice of self-reflection on teaching, peer-cooperation, professional knowledge guide in detail. By analyzing the collected materials, the article reveals the general rule of school-based teaching and research in biology in high schools. It aims to improve schools and teachers'ideas and actions of school-based teaching and research.The article below comes up with ways to carry out school-based teaching and research in the following aspects: self-reflection on teaching, peer-cooperation and professional knowledge guide.
