With the development of the global economy in the 21 st century,the education of science,technology,engineering and mathematics is becoming more and more important in the development of various countries.How to develop STEM education and how to deal with this problem have become the focus of attention.From the literature and case analysis,the design research of STEM curriculum in China is still at the initial stage.There are just a few articles on the case study of STEM education,and there is no systematic understanding in theory and no unified STEM curriculum standard at the national level.Therefore,this research adopts the literature research and the case analysis method,then selects the American typical cases to carry on the analysis,and finally summarizes the six major characteristics of the STEM curriculum: situational nature,consistency,integration,direct observation,cooperative nature and scientific nature.Then,according to these characteristics,this paper puts forward the strategies of teachers' professional development,including personal and school aspects.Personal aspects include making full use of the situation;keeping track of progress;optimizing knowledge structure;creating true feelings;cultivating harmonious and cooperative relationship;paying attention to scientific research thinking;renewing teaching resources;making use of the characteristics of biology.School aspects include the provision of specialized learning opportunities for teachers;developing a unique path of development for each teacher;raising the standards of teacher recruitment;paying attention to the construction of professional community.Then the author carries on the practice research and understands the true situation about domestic implementation of STEM curriculum.Because of the limitation of the implementation of STEM curriculum in our country,no biological STEM course but a STEM course in aerospace bionics has been used in the course of implementation,and when introducing the last point of personal aspects,I attached a biology-themed STEM lesson for your reference.By learning about the real cases of the STEM course,it is found that the design concept can be a great inspiration to biology teachers,and it is helpful for biology teachers to use for reference when designing STEM curriculum.At last,the thesis summarizes and reflects on the research.The innovation of this article is to provide a new way to develop STEM topics.Because at present we have been exposed to few STEM courses on the subject of biology,and througha careful study of the real case of STEM courses,finding that biology will be a good STEM subject development library.
