Job stress and burnout, which affect one's work performance and physical / mental health, has been one of interested focuses in psychologic domains. Previous investigations upon job stress and burnout of teachers focused on of teachers at primary schools and high schools, but lacked systematic study for university teachers. This thesis aims at acknowledging relations between job stress and burnout among university teachers. Related results may play critical roles for human resources development and utilization, and raising competitiveness of univeristies.In this thesis, young teachers of two universities in Jilin Province are targeted to apply a random sampling questionaire under guidance of a MBI test table and the College and University Young Teacher Job stress scale. Reliability and validity of the test table are tested by using SPSS. Used statistic methods include ANOVA, correlation, and regression. Results of this study are as follows:1. About 24.1 percent of the targeted teachers strongly felt the job stress, about 10.0 percent of the teachers strongly felt the job burnout, and about 36.5 percent of them have access to emotional exhaustion.2. The demologic variables took significant effects upon job stress and burnout.3. Job stress of university teachers significantly correlated with burnout ( R=0.464, P<0.01 ).4. Job burnout can be predicted by job stress using regressions.
