It is supposed to be a major task of the mathematical education to foster students'mathematical inference ability, which is the common sense reached at the 24th International Mathematicians'Conference in August, 2002 in Beijing.Therefore there is no doubt that developing students'mathematical inference ability is one of the important goals of mathemetics curriculum. How to improve students'mathematical inference ability is the issue that numerous educators are concerned with.However, Our country is a country of multiny nationalities, there is millions of minority nationality that be distributed in the border area. In the reasons of the difference of national cultural background, the unbalance of the region economy, the influence of the family education and teaching activities in school and the disparity of the motives and the interest in mathematics study, all of these will bring influence to the mathematics inference ability of student. It is an important issue concerned with the improvement of the overall Chinese nation quality that how to improve the quality of the mathematics teaching in the minority nationality area and shorten the distance between the minority nationality area and inland area after new curriculum reform..Some educational and scientific study methods are adopted in the article, which are survey and enquiry, analytical method, documentary method, statistics and test. Firstly, based on the theory of cross-cultural study, the cause is found that there is difference in mathematical inference ability among different nationalities from the angle of cross-culture.Then proceeding from theoretical study of mathematical inference ability and the study at home and abroad, we gain the thorough and scientific comprehension of mathematical inference and its ability.Namely mathematical inference ability, actually is the comprehensive indication of the students'logical demonstration ability, independent thinking ability as well as exploring and creative ability. Besides, it's also a complex ability. I carry out a test and an investigation among the Zhuang and Han students at ShangSi in order to find the difference and its reasons of mathematical inference ability in cross-culture and put forward an enlightenment for the national mathematic elementary education. At the same time, the study can provide materical and basic for national educational administrative, privide applied value to improve the present situation of the national mathematic elementary education. For making this text, many investigation and experiment regarding to the developing status of plausible reasoning ability of pupil in the eighth and ninth grade have been done. I have tested on about 730 pupils in the eighth and ninth grade, and investigated their performance of plausible reasoning, inductive reasoning and analogous reasoning. Meanwhile eight teachers and sixteen students have been gathered and discussed in different groups, conclusion is reached that: Firstly, mathematical inference ability of junior middle school students of Zhuang and Han nationality is low and there is no difference in them. Secondly, Pupil's mathematical inference ability is in positive relation to the grade of their mathematics. With the development of their age, there is no related progress. Thirdly, the development of mathematical inference ability of junior middle school students of Zhuang and Han nationality is influenced by their language, their mathematics teachers, jobs of their parents, the degree of their culture, family background as well as the number of their books and so on, particularly, their mathematics teachers have greater effort on them than any other factor.Finally, based on the above test, some experiments are conducted to test and study the present development of mathematical inference ability of the students of Zhuang and Han nationality in Grade Eight.Experiment which is entitled"If enhancing plausible reasoning teaching helps to develop the plausible reasoning ability"have been carried out on about 100 pupils in two class in the eighth grade, the following conclusion is reached:1. Pupil's mathematical inference ability is in positive relation to the level of their basic knowledge and skill.2. The plausible reasoning ability of middle school students is slowly developed spontaneously. Reasons: no individual section in teaching material for plausible reasoning, no proper position in examinatorial outline, teacher's education concept lag behind. Supposition is almost being forgotten when we are teaching and is ignoring by student.3. Enhancing mathematical inference teaching helps to develop the relevant ability.4. It's quite necessary to strengthen the construction of the team of teachers in the border minority nationality areas to improve the level of their education.Some educational and scientific study methods are adopted in the article, which are survey and enquiry, analytical method, documentary method, statistics and test.
