The training of middle and primary headmasters was put on agenda in the 1980s and departments of national education administration promulgated and implemented a series of training regulations. In the past twenty years, headmaster training has achieved great success. However, problems still exist objectively.The advance of headmaster's specialization has put forward higher request. The paper, from macroscopic and microcosmic aspects, systematically analyses the present problems and the causes of headmaster training of our country and puts forward constructive opinions and suggestions. Macroscopically, take headmasters' basic condition and training condition of T City as the investigating object. According to the collected data, the paper objectively analyses the present condition and problems of headmaster training. T City, a coastal city with its flourishing economy and education, is therefore a representative. On the macro view, taking national headmaster training in developed countries as investigating object, the paper conducts a probe into the existing problems and gaps of middle and primary headmasters' training of our country. Where-after, the paper combines the macro and micro view, analyses the reasons and puts forward strategies.The reasons are various. The paper lays particular emphasis on the analysis of the training itself. The cognitive faintness to the headmaster's specialization, the lack of training philosophy or barren training philosophy, the weak system construction, teachers' level, the restriction of outlays etc. are all important reasons for the headmaster's training falling behind. Aiming at the existing problems and gaps, the paper puts forward suggestions on training of middle and primary headmasters from theoretical and practical aspects. Explicit targets, renewal philosophy, pushing forward system construction, creative training contents, modes as well as methods etc. are all important factors pushing training quality forward.However, the reason resulting in the headmasters' training falling behind not just lies in the training itself but in the existence of economic, historical, cultural factors and so on. Therefore, suggestions are only the expression of requirements of improving training quality, which, however, can not be accomplished in one move and needs to be corrected and improved continuously.
