Higher vocation education is an important part of national education system in our country, it is playing the vital role in raising the high quality and high-level technical talented person. As the result of goal particularity of high vocational education, the higher vocational college should have the bright characteristic in thought political education work.Writer through to investigate and Statistics present situation of the students' thought in the Yueyang vocational technical college, analyze contemporary and social higher vocational college students' thought characteristics with the method of the substantial evidence, analyze the effection that contemporary society bring to higher vocational students' thought and political education in the meantime, explore the formation reason that the contemporary higher vocational students' thought characteristics, understand and hold the higher vocational students' thought characteristics, make clear the antinomy and perplexity and problems , which stand in the higher vocational students ' mind, propose the countermeasure of the higher vocational students' thought and political education work: we must pay attention to the characteristics of higher vocational college, strengthen aim at sex and real results of the thought and political education work; establish an opening thought and political education system; and pay closer attention to combine the thought and political education with mental health education work Etc.In general speaking, according to the students' thought characteristics, at the Marxist theories and the thought political educational foundation up, we must prominently strengthen the education of the occupational ethics, the profession spirit and the economic theory and raise the students' theory element and the moral accomplishment.
