Rural elite, who is outstanding in the rural society, plays a great role in the rural society development. Whether as a promoter of rural democracy or hinder, the leader of economic development or the grafter of the collective assets, the advocate for rural civilization or conservative of tradition, rural elite can not be ignored in rural society. Study on rural elite not only benefits the construction and further improve of rural development theory, but also promotes rural construction practice effectively. The paper, based on previous studies on the fruitful results, tries to understand rural elite fully on "relations" perspective. The article conceives an analysis tool of "village field" in virtue of Bourdieu's field theory, and researches the elite relations in field of village by integration of field theory and network theory. Network theory is good at study the structure statically, and field theory researches a relationship dynamically from a cultural view. The author attempts to combine their advantages, which use network analysis to study the patterns of elite relationship in village field, and use"field"and other concepts to analyze building and internal mechanism of the elite relationship. Concretely speaking, villages, the basic unit of China rural areas, could be as a complete field, including the political sub-field, the economic sub-field and the social life sub-field. In the sub-fields, rural elite is dominator and the owner and executor of power in the fields. The paper chooses two villages– Liu Zhuang and Lu Yuan of Shaanxi to do empirical research, and arranges the article structure in accordance with the basic steps of the analysis of Field.First of all, the author analyses the structure of the village field and confirms locations of various roles. In order to analyze the structure of the field, the paper introduced a network theory to describe the patterns of the elite relations in village field. In the analysis of the whole network, the centre position, the "bridge" position and the core position of the cliques are the best position to access to information, resources and power. Therefore, political, economic and social elite have the dominant power in their respective field and form the centre elite, the bridge elite and the cliques elite in their different domain. The elite and the public assume different roles and functions by reason of different locations. The centre elite, the bridge elite and the cliques elite take on control, communication, shelter function and so on. Meanwhile, the general public support elite on transportation and resources in accordance with their own interests.Network analysis clearly demonstrates actors'position and the relationships between theirs. For example, the relationship between elite's position in the village field and their power and resources. The article regards the elite and the general public as research object, and reviews the various forces in the village field comprehensively.Secondly, the author analyses the operation of village field dynamically. The dominance of the elite is in the course of the regeneration, growth or weakens between the elites'interaction by themselves and with the public, not perpetually. In order to safeguard their core position, various elite are also actively engaged in a strategic game. In the process, national policy, the interests, and human factors are used slightly to achieve the maximization of self-interest. Thirdly, the article finds that the patterns of the village elites'relationship affect village development. The village of LiuZhuang presents rapid development and governance harmony in the polymerization pattern of the elite relationship; LuYuan presents slow pace of development and governance taxation in discrete pattern. In conclusion, the article concludes the whole text and proposes the construction of rational patterns of the village elite relationships and the reasonable development of the villages, with a view of benefiting the building of a harmonious society in contemporary rural areas.
