Self-actualization theory is the core proposition of Maslow's humanistic psychology. Starting with the intrinsic mind need, he expounds thoroughly that "self- actualization" is a sub-instinct need that drives human activities and is a real human beings' instinct. Based on the deep research into Maslow's self- actualization and good practice, combined with current the status quo of the teaching of writing in middle schools and the author's own teaching experience, the main idea of the thesis is thus formulated. In terms of the malpractice that the traditional writing teaching has neglected the leading and propping up of students' psychological development for a long time, which causes their some unhealthy state of mind existing in writing like anxiety, perfunctory attitude, following the others, etc., the author tries to construct a theory of middle school students' good writing psychology under the guidance of Maslow's self-actualization theory. A person with good writing psychology should regard writing as a need that drives self-actualization. The content of writing is a brave way of revealing one's own thoughts, while the process of writing is a kind of full, energetic and selfless experiencing of life, a process of perfecting one's psychological construction and a process of forming one's healthy state of mind towards life. In the last part of the paper, according to Maslow's theory, combined with the author's own teaching experience, she discussed how to foster middle school students' good writing psychology from following three aspects, i.e. coming to mild mind by eliminating anxious mind, adjusting mind by creating situation and optimizing mind by broadening vision. The paper is expected to promote her own teaching and enrich the research on the related filed.
