The International Comparative And Applied Research Of Course Management System

With the rapid development of network technique and information technology, E-learning as a new learning style is widely popularized, and has been a good supplement to our traditional classroom learning style. Its emergence makes it possible to fulfill our dream of lifelong learning and makes great contribution to the construction of our"learning style society". By taking full advantage of modern network technique and information technology, E-learning builds totally a new communicative mechanism and learning environment of abundant resources to accelerate learning efficiency and promote learning performance. From the definition we can see that the accomplishment of E-learning depends on certain learning environment of network and digitalization, which is supposed to possess the function of course design & management, communication & corporation, and executive management. There are many ways to address the learning environment, such as network learning platform, virtual learning environment (VLE), course manage system (CMS), etc. In this research, we applied the CMS which is widely adopted both home and abroad.In this thesis, the definition and function of CMS is discussed in detail, which establishes the foundation of its research and development to avoid the confusion of its definition and function in its process of development. Moreover, we could obtain a clear observation of the advantages and disadvantages of different CMS through the comparative study of scores of CMS widely adopted domestic and foreign, which will be substantially helpful to the future CMS selection, research and development. Besides that, we also research on the CMS of Northeast Normal University based on Moodle, the well-known open source CMS.
