Computer technology, the representative of new techniques, has been applied to every field of education, mathematics education included. So it is necessary for us to study how to make full use of computer technology in education based on the practice and theory.The thesis analyzes the background and current development of multimedia technology, and the basis of theory applying multimedia to mathematics teaching. According to the related theories, the thesis discusses the application of computer auxiliary teaching to mathematics in vocational schools. The thesis further probes into the modern teaching methods that fit teaching features and requirement of secondary vocational schools. Furthermore, the thesis explores the best breakthrough point to traditional education modes in order to make full use of multimedia teaching and to extend its application areas continuously. Research has shown that application of multimedia has had a positive impact on the reform of education in secondary vocational schools. The sophistication of multimedia technology, which is based on the modern educational theories, can be brought into full play. And optimization of teaching process makes it more fruitful. At the same time, it is of realistic significance to explore the new idea of teaching reform, to nurture the new way of thinking of teachers and students, to inspire the spirit of innovation.Based on the related theories, we adopt the methods of references and investigation papers. Real teaching experiments is taking to prove the effects of using all kinds of teaching media, and how to optimize teaching process, increase teaching effects according to the condition of secondary vocational schools themselves. These experiments reveal that the Computer-Asissted Instruction is helpful to optimize the teaching process and to increase the teaching effects.
