On The Mental Health Education Of The University Students In The Ideological And Political Education

Talents are playing a decisive role in social development. Universities are the base for cultivating talents. An important guideline for measuring the educational quality is whether they can cultivate the versatile talents who can meet social requirements. Nowadays, the society has been in the time of intellectual economy. It is developing very fast and is filled with fierce competition. There has been a huge change in life, which has dramatically increased mental shock and influence that university students are experiencing. So the problems with the students'mental health are heightened. The problems can only be solved when the traditional ideological and political education is combined with mental health education, which is the requirement of the time. It is critical for university students'healthy growth to focus on their mental health, to solve their mental problems and to build up an educational system of mental health, which is necessary for cultivating the students. So in order to fulfill the ideological and political education in the new situation, Universities ought to pay great attention to the mental health education and carry it out indeed. And the mental health education must be included in the ideological and political education of university students to achieve an organic combination of the two, which is an effective way of strengthening and improving the ideological and political education of university students in the new situation.This paper is divided into three parts: Part one: The role that mental health education plays in the ideological and political education of university students. The writer mainly expounds the present state of the mental health education in China, its relation with the ideological and political education and its importance in the ideological and political education. Part two: The existence of the mental health education in the ideological and political education, which is analyzed and illustrated in terms of the students'characteristics, the requirements for teaching staff, the teaching content and methods. Part three: The ways to solve the existing problems with mental health education in the ideological and political education. The problems can be solved by increasing the communication between the students and the teachers, speeding up the construction of the professional teaching staff, reforming the educational methods and content , improving the students'mental health, and so on.The aim of this paper is to point out the existing problems with the ideological and political education and find out the solutions by illustrating the necessity and possibility of integrating it with mental health education so as to make them more scientific and effective and, as a result, speed up the cultivating of more excellent and professional talents.
