Study On The Combination Of Mental Health Education And Ideological Political Education For College Students

University students are considered as the future of our country and hope of our nation.Thus mental health and comprehensive development of university students not only influence their healthy development,but also their mental attitude,which is strongly related to the future and destiny of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Education on mental health of university students has been tightly connected to ideology and politics education since the last 80's.After nearly 40 years' development,lots of results have been obtained both theoretically and practically.However,new challenge has risen from the fast development of social politics,economy,culture and technology towards higher education,and new dilemma are being faced with ideology and politics education and mental health education.Therefore,it is utterly important and urgent to clarify the boundary between the two and settle their relationship.This is to combine their strength in order to serve better job in cultivating socialist constructor and successor of next generation.This research attempts to explore the developing trend in combining mental health and ideological politics education based on the practical needs,internal mechanism,internal conditions,ideology resources,historic development process and practical dilemmas,and to construct the mental health education patterns based on the ideological and politics education,stimulate the synergy of of mental health and ideological politics education and achieve the goal of cultivation of comprehensively developed constructor and successor of socialism.Chapter 1 demonstrates the basic condition for mental health education and ideological politics education to combine from three aspects.The first one is the need for development of the society.The combination of mental health and ideological politics education is the needed by the development of university students,cultivation of new generations,and also the development of education itself.The second aspect is from the inner mechanisms,including the relationships between psychology and thought,mental health and morality,mental health issues and morality issues,psychological quality and ideology quality.The third aspect is from the elements of educational activities,which reveals the prerequisites based on the comparisons in terms of the main body,goal,content,method,path and management.Chapter 2 demonstrates the ideological resources for the combination.The educational ideas throughout history around the globe are all around humanity.Traditional education in China especially stress the importance of morality in terms of personality cultivation.Ideologists of Confucianism,Taoism and Mohism respectively,have come up with their own ideal personality and educational methods.In the meanwhile,ideas of healthy personality cultivation and educational methods from different genres in western psychology were raised.There are rich thoughts about humanity in Marxist theory,and it is our goal and value pursuit in education to realize the free and all-around development of humanity.These thoughts have provided abundant ideology resources for the combination of mental health and ideological education.Chapter 3 demonstrates the historical development of combining the mental health and ideological politics education.It analyzes the path of the combination and summarizes relevant achievements,as well as drawbacks and lessons learn from past failures.The four stages of combining mental health and ideological politics education has been through four stages: attention and exploration,introspection and positioning,construction and innovation,and finalization.Characteristics of such development has been as follows:Higher standard set for student's mental strength and their needs for growth become the internal motivation to combine education of mental health and ideological politics.Initiatives for educator to explore mental health education is the precondition for the two to combine.Development of subjects related to mental health and ideological politics has provided theoretical basics and resources for the combination of mental health and ideological politics education.Positioning and conduction from national policy pointed out direction for the combination of the two.Chapter 4 demonstrates existing dilemmas when combining education of mental health and ideological politics.This chapter starts from reality and analyze in terms of theory,practice and mechanism.Theoretical dilemmas mainly appear in theoretical systems and educational ideas.Practical dilemmas are often faced in terms of teaching,daily education,social practice and consulting services.Mechanism dilemma is mainly found in leadership,management and team construction.Chapter 5 discuss the theoretical structure of the combination of mental health education and ideological politics education.It attempts to construct an elementary theory of the combination from theory,goal and content points of view.It firstly analyzes the main principle of the combination,while persisting the priority of humanity,morality and the value orientation.It also persists the principles of system,development,two-way independence,value orientation and self-construction.Secondly,it demonstrates the interior and characteristics of mental health education that is based on the ideological politics education,analyzing the evidence and orientation of the combination as the goal.Thirdly,it tentatively constructs the systematic content according to mental health education based on the ideological and politics education.Chapter 6 discusses the practical path for combination of education of mental health and ideological politics.This chapter mainly discusses the path for such combination starting from the practical issues,including construction of systems for teaching and activities,professionalization of teaching staffs and completion of institutional mechanism and educational system.With the innovation of educational ideas and completion of the system,there are broader prospects for the combination of mental health education and ideological politics education.Such combination possess increasing potential in cultivation of socialist successor of next generation.
