How to bring quality-oriented education into effect and implement students' overall ability is an important subject which deserves the pondering of everyone engaged in the education cause. The new syllabus criterion emphasizes more on the dominant position of students. It develops students' sense of participation and affective experience. Besides, it also prompts thin abilities to research, to discover and to create. Therefore, the new syllabus embodies the ground, situational teaching approach has been adopted as a most effective teaching mode which is fit for the reform of syllabus in China, while how to create situation is now considered as a very important aspect of situational teaching approach. This thesis is mainly based on constructivism and theory of modern teaching which explores how to collect situational materials from different approaches and process these materials aiming at the features of chemistry teaching in senior high. Moreover, it thoroughly illustrates the basic rules which we must follow when creating situation. Then, the thesis analyzes the methods of creating teaching situation through a great number of teaching examples. Apart from the theory research, we have also focused attention on the teaching practice and research, which indicates it is not only possible but necessary to carry out situational teaching in chemistry teaching as creating reasonable and proper situation can arouse students' interest in chemistry and cultivate the students' ability of question consciousness and settlement efficiently. And it also contributes to the improvement of students' school records. Last but net least, it has put forward a higher requirement to the chemistry teachers at the same time.
