A Study Of The Relationship Between Professional Orientation And Professional Interest As Well As Personality Of Graduate Students

Objective: (1)To investigate the character of the graduate's professional orientation; (2)To discuss and study the relationship of professional orientation and professional interest as well as personality.Methods: 528 graduates with various majors from a Hunan-based university were assessed with LCVIT, 16PF and a professional orientation completion designed by the researcher herself, the samples come from group test associative with individual test, the data were analyzed and dealt with SPSS13.0, the analyzing methods covered Descriptive Statistics analysis, Chi-square test, One-factor ANOVA and Logistic Regression and so on.Results: (1) The demography difference of the graduate's professional orientation were as follows:①There were very striking differences in total sex of professional orientation, in addition, the difference in the researching of the social type and the conventional type were extremely obvious (p<0.01), and that of the reality type and the enterprise type were obvious (p<0.05), but there was no obvious difference in the artistic type (p>0.05).②The total major difference of professional orientation were extremely obvious (p<0.01), so were the major difference of professional orientation type (p<0.01).③There was no obvious statistic meaning in the total urban and rural difference of professional orientation (p>0.05), but there were obvious difference in the urban and rural of the researching type professional orientation (p<0.05).④There was no obvious statistic meaning in the total family monthly income of professional orientation(p>0.05), neither was the family monthly income of professionally orientation type.⑤There were obvious difference in the total fathers' professions of professional orientation (p>0.05),there was no statistic meaning in the mothers' professional difference(p>0.05),in addition, it was obvious in the fathers' professional difference of professional orientation for art(p<0.05) and the mother's professional difference of professional orientation for research(p<0.05);⑥There was no obvious statistic meaning in the total parents' education degree difference of professional orientation(p>0.05), but it was obvious in parents' education degree diference for the artistic type professional orientation(p>0.05) and the mothers' education degree difference for the research type professtional orientation(p<0.05). (2)The difference of professional interest sub-scales mean-value of professional orientation: except that social type professional interest had no obvious difference(p>0.05), other types had obvious difference(p<0.01). (3)The difference of the 16PF sub-scales mean-value of professional orientation: except that there were extremely obvious differences in the intelligence,sensitivity and obvious difference in the strength and tonicity(p<0.05), there was no obvious difference in the others. (4)The coincidence between professional orientation and professional interest: the total condition had extremely obvious difference (p<0.01), most of that was the completely uncoincident condition, the second was the basic coincidence, the lowest was the completely coincident condition(p<0.01). (5)The difference of professional interest sub-scales mean-value of major difference: except that the International Economy and Trade Specialty had no obvious difference(p>0.05), other specialties had obvious difference(p<0.01). (6)The factors that influences the graduates' professional orientation:①Those of the realistic type professional orientation were mother's being laid off, the Physics Specialty, the Compute Specialty and social professional interest;②Those of the research type professional orientation were mothers' education degree, the Physics Specialty, the Computer Specialty, the Education Technology Specialty, intelligence, sensitivity and tonicity;③Those of the artistic type professional orientation were sex, the Art Specialty, the Education Technology Specialty, artistic type professional interest, social type professional interest and enterprise type professional interest;④Those of the social type professional orientation were the Physics Specialty, the International Economy and Trade Specialty, the Law Specialty, artistic type professional interest, social type professional interest and enterprise type professional interest;⑤Those of the enterprising type professional orientation were: the being-worker father, the Art Specialty, the International Economy and Trade Specialty, artistic type professional interest,social type professional interest,enterprising professional interest and independence.;⑥Those of the conventional professional choice were as following: the being-merchant father, the Art Specialty, artistic type professional interest and excitability.Conclusions: (1) There were some differences in sex, major, father's profession while no obvious difference in the urban and rural, family monthly income, mother's profession and the parents' education degree in the graduate' professional orientation. (2)There were significant differences among the professional orientation type of the graduate and its related influencing factors: for example, mostly the Physics majors prefer to the realistic type professional orientation, the research type professional orientation and the enterprising type professional orientation; the Computer majors prefer to the realistic type professional orientation and the research type professional orientation; the Art majors prefer to the artistic type professional orientation and the social type professional orientation; the Physics majors prefer to the type professional orientation ; the Education Technology majors prefer to the social type professional orientation and the enterprising type professional orientation of; the Law majors prefer to the social type professional orientation and the enterprising type professional orientation of. In addition, there were some difference in sex and major of the realistic type professional orientation, the social type professional orientation , the enterprising type professional orientation and the conventional type professional orientation; There were some difference in sex, major, urban, rural location, mother's profession and mother's education degree of the research type professional orientation; There were some difference in major, father's profession and father's education degree of the artful type professional orientation. (3) There were some difference in professional interest of the graduate with different professional orientation. (4) There were some difference in 16PF of the graduate with different professional orientation. (5) The difference of the coincidence between the professional orientation and professional interest were obvious, but it was not ideal. (6)The graduate's professional orientation was influenced by professional interest, personality Factor, sex, major and the family background factor and so on.
