A Study On The Graduate Career Decision-making Self-efficacy And Its Relationships With Goal Orientation And Profession Values

This paper is intended to discuss the graduate career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) and its relationships with goal orientation and profession value by the empirical method. For one thing, we can understand the links between the graduate career decision-making self-efficacy, goal orientation and profession value, enrich the research on college students' career psychology and provide theory and basis for related researches. For another thing, this work can help us know the graduate's hearts on searching jobs, and offer information to the college employment departments for advice, which can instruct college students' employment.Based on others works and contributions, this paper will propose certain framework and hypothesis. Four hundred and nineteen students from three universities in Hunan Province are tested by the way of questions. Simple Form of CDMSE(Long Yanmei,2001), Goal Inclination Survey(XuFangzhong,2000), Profession Value Survey(Ling Wenquan,1999) and SPSS are used to analyse the data. Then we get the conclusions as follows.1. the level of CDMSE stay above the middle line, with difference in region.2. there are sharp contrast between graduate performance goal orientation and learning goal orientation. On the whole, the graduate mostly choose the learning goal orientation with differences in terms of gender and region. 3. the profession value appears no great differences in terms of gender,major and region, but more attention on self-development and health care.4. there exists positive relations between the elements of CDMSE, goal inclination and profession value.5. the reputation and position factor in goal inclination and profession value has extinguished influence on CDMSE.
