In the context of the new curriculum reform, many physics teachers urgently need to address such problem as how to use information technology to enhance the effectiveness of physics teaching, and how to make information technology to be a powerful tool in the physics teaching and learning. With the dynamic interactive and calculated precision characteristics, Geometer's Sketchpad (GSP in short) is very suitable for physics teaching and therefore caused people's concern. The purpose of this study is to put forward the strategy and principles of effectively use of GSP in middle school physics teaching though the way of theoretical analysis and practical experiences and lessons learned.First of all, based on the theory of physics teaching, I put forward the effective application philosophy. The second step, based on the characteristics of the GSP and Physics and difficult points of physics teaching, I put forward the entry points of the effective application. The third step, though the analysis of the literature survey and interviews Research, I summed up the status, changing trends and the problems of the application. The fourth step, through the typical case study, I summed up the form and strategy of GSP's application. Finally I summed up the important principles to guide the practice and to promote GSP play a greater role in physics teaching and accomplishing the objectives of the new physics curriculum.
