A Study Of The Leisure Life Of Inhabitants In Yuandingyuan Community In Harbin

This thesis presents community studies on leisure. We choose the Yuanding yuan community in Harbin as a case, and take parts of its habitants as interviewees and to interview them in order to gain some new understanding on leisure of city.This paper builds a classified model of leisure activities considering the personal experiences and social structure, by which the inhabitants'leisure activities can be assorted into four styles namely:"positive leisure","carefree leisure","alienated leisure"and"passive leisure"."Positive leisure"includes"individual-positive leisure"and"organic-positive leisure","positive leisure"need people to have enough spare time, so the old people have many chances to do it;"carefree leisure"includes"borderline carefree leisure"and"break-rules carefree leisure", it can make people happy, but can't be supported by others;"Alienated leisure"is usually based on some economic purpose or structural pressure and people must to do."Passive leisure"is usually acted under duress, or owing to some barriers in body or mind.The paper uses the four leisure styles above to explain the leisure features of each life cycle stages. The analyses indicate that: In adolescence,"alienated leisure"is much, and in youth,"carefree leisure"takes a fast increasing proportion. In adulthood,"alienated leisure"proportion increases. In retirement,"positive leisure"comes back again. Late in the life,"passive leisure"is the mainly leisure style.It uses the life cycle theory (Havighurst etc) to explain the people's leisure features of each life stages on the last. The result shows that the features is determined by the"developmental tasks"of corresponding life time, and it embodies the fulfillment to the"developmental tasks". So, we ought to improve the inhabitants'leisure life according to the features of every stage.In theory, this paper puts forward a leisure classification frame to the later research. In method, it utilizes community studies as complementarities of the past statistical method. In practice, the leisure features and questions in life cycle can clue relative people and departments for reference.
