Leisure life is an important part of middle vocational school student's everyday life. The research has extended the feelers to the middle vocational students who live in school. It has broadened the view of the sociological research and provided important data for the educationists to study leisure life of secondary vocational students. And the research in this thesis will play a great role in improving the quality of leisure life and in developing education on the leisure.A questionnaire has been designed thoughtfully to survey the current situation of most aspects of the leisure life for middle vocational students. Based on the questionnaires of 972 vocational students from 5 middle vocational schools in Chongqing, the systematic and comprehensive investigation on leisure time configuration, leisure activity types, leisure consumption levels, leisure skills, leisure areas and leisure life experience of middle vocational school students has carried out. And all kinds of mathematical statistic methods have been used. The conclusion has been drawn that the present situation of middle vocational school students'leisure life is not optimistic:1) The leisure life is in a primitive status.2) The type of leisure activity is limited and the level is not high.3) The leisure knowledge is poor and the leisure skill is lacking.4) The leisure space is insufficient and the leisure facilities are scarce.In the further discussion and analysis on the survey results, it has been found that carrying through leisure education is practically significant, the reasons are as follows:1) Leisure education is the basic approach to improve the quality of the middle vocational schools students'leisure life.2) Leisure education is an important complement to the education for all-round development. On the basis of the discussion, some strategies for the pedagogic countermeasures have been put forward:1) Establish correct goals for the leisure education (primary and advanced goal).2) Carry out scientific research and proper guidance on leisure life.3) Middle vocational schools should play the main role in leisure education including assisting students to establish a correct concept of time, cultivating their leisure skills, creating a good network environment for them, extending the range of community activities as well as developing and improving school facilities to provide students with broader leisure space.
