These years, Outward bound has also caused the attention from the majors in universities, which discuss how to incorporate development training, serving as a supplement, into college P.E.With Outward bound elective course in Shanxi universities as the object, the thesis researches into its state on the basis of documents and observations with Beijing University, Beijing P.E. University, Beijing Forestry University and China Geology University as the bases. It is based on the condensed questionnaires to the P.E. teachers and the students from the two universities which have started the course.With the methods of documents, questionnaires, observations, expert interviewing, statistics and logics, the thesis concludes:1 The training ways and the effects of the Outward bound have been recognized and introduced nationwide, and they are heading into team constructing and employee training in businesses.2 The investigation into two universities with Outward bound leads to the finding that it has a bright future in universities. The authorities can have it as elective course or required course depending on the students, which is a feasible choice for college P.E. reforming adjusting to the social needs.3 Introducing Outward bound into universities of our province as a course goes with college P.E. reforming in our country, enriches the elective courses, benefits the course developing, reinforces the students' characters, promotes the students' mental health, reinforces the students' adapting ability, which embodies the guiding thinking, " Health First".4 After investigations, questionnaires and statistics in universities which have established the Outward bound course in Beijing and Shanxi, the concluded Outward bound course system corresponds to the needs of the Outward bound, suits the students' needs in developing bodily and psychologically, offers reference for the Outward bound course establishing in universities of our province.
