Much reform has been done in junior high school about the choice of English teaching materials, with its focus on content and vocabulary. However, most teachers still remain accustomed to the conventional way of teaching and students to rote learning. As a result, English teaching in junior high school fails to meet the standards set in the new curriculum.Based on humanism and constructivism theories, this paper studied the status quo of English teaching in junior high schools through the use of questionnaires and others and suggested the emotional education model of English teaching in a way to effectively improve classroom teaching, to help promote students' interest in learning English with enthusiasm and initiative, to stimulate students' learning potential and ultimately promote their positive attitude towards life.Through empirical study, the author has reached the following conclusion: (1) The emotional education model in English teaching in junior high schools will help students cultivate interest and empower students' will to learn English well. (2) Teachers can improve students' performance through the use of emotional education. (3) The emotional education model in English teaching in junior high schools can also improve students' learning ability and positive emotional attitude towards life.
