Innovation is the soul of a nation and the inexhaustible motive force of a country. Hence, the mission of a 21st century's education should be to train people to be innovative and to develop an innovational spirit. Higher Vocational Education is an important component of Chinese higher education. This type of education bears the important responsibility of delivering highly skilled experts to the line of production, management, and service areas. This is not only applicable to the succession of knowledge, technology and methods, but also to the creative application of problem solving and analysis. Therefore, Vocational College students need to cultivate creativity as a primary objective. So, investigating how to train students to be creative in the process of problem solving has both theoretical and practical significance.This paper firstly introduces the basic concepts of creativity, research theory and loosely analyses what is creativity in higher vocational students and how it manifests. Then exposes the theory of creativeness in higher vocational students, analyzes the importance of training creative students and the underlying theories behind it. Moreover, it highlights the contents of creativeness training in two major sections. The core section deals with creativeness and praxis, and the supporting section with creative awareness, creative willingness, creative spirit, creative quality and the creative environment. Then it concludes by analyzing the existing problems of creativeness training in the Chinese higher vocational education system, and suggests possible changes in current educational theories. Particularly it suggests a renewal of the educational process, an improvement in the quality of teachers, and to building a new educational system based on the concept of"all for the vocation"while bringing a new school atmosphere.
