Exploring solutions to financial problems in the independent colleges in China is of two-fold value to the reform and development of Chinese higher education. Therefore, the paper attempts to take the financial problems existing in the independent college of G University for a case study in order to seek solutions to these problems and offer some valuable suggestions.The paper consists of five parts as follows:Part one gives a brief introduction to the survey of the contemporary studies in terms of the financial operation in the Chinese independent colleges.Part two focuses on the history of the college and its development placed in the background of China.Part three seeks to explore the financial operation history and patterns of the independent college of G University.Part four concentrates on the exploration and analysis of the problems and their causes of the financial operation in the privately funded college of G university in terms of the sources, management and expenses. It finds that problems results from the unique financial source, poor monitoring system, and unreasonable costs.Part five draws lessons from the measurements taken by the counterpart universities in India, Taiwan District of China, and Singapore for lessons and proposes that attempts be made to find more financial sources, carry out the liberal financial management system and higher working efficiency as well as lower cost.
