The Training Of Students' Scientific Research Capacity

With the rapid development of information technology and the popularity of the utilization of the Internet, the so-called "the Age of Knowledge Explosion" has come. The new historical era requires the spirit of creativity and innovation, thus, it is important to nurture such spirit among junior middle school students in the present time. It is both a serious academic topic and the responsibility of all the educators in today's China. The training of academic ability of junior high school students should be based on scientific and systematic educational methodology which aims to teach students to be able to form a scientific insight and the ability to experience the process of knowledge acquisition. In this way, such an educational method aims to an overall development of the students' comprehensive competence.This research investigated the mechanism of the formation of students' awareness of doubt, competence of thinking, scientific method and innovative spirit and analyzed the necessity and importance of the accumulation of academic ability for junior high school students, drawing the conclusion that the training of academic ability is the integrated content of the nurturing of the students' comprehensive ability. According to this requirement, the learning competence of the junior high school students should focus on the ability to solve practical problems rather than the static memory of the knowledge in textbooks. To summarize, the training of students' comprehensive ability is a long process which reflects the overall concern of the reformation of the present educational structure and also the new historical requirement of the students in the new era.In order to explain this problem more comprehensively and more clearly, this dissertation analyzed the scientific research capacity in three major aspects. Firstly, the author briefly introduced the literature information concerning the training of research competence based on the explanation of some basic concepts. By tracing the theoretical development we can see clearly that the realization of students' research capacity is based on the close cooperation between teaching and leaning. In the second part of this study, the author conducted a deeper investigation into the methods of training the research capacity of students. This part contains the distinction between the traditional teaching methods and the research training methods. Thus, by doing so, the author, highlighted the importance of the research competence of students, including the competence of questioning, experimenting, explaining, evaluating and communicating. All these capacities, as readers can see in this dissertation, reflects the different aspects of students' research competence and how to nurture these competence should be greatly emphasized in today's science teaching. Based on this analysis, the author also analyzed comprehensively the embodiment of research competence, pointing out the problems that have been available in today's science teaching. The third part of this study mainly focuses on the practical methods of improving the methodology of science teaching and its significance in nurturing students' scientific research competence, among which the right operation of experiment is one the most important.To summarize, students' scientific research capacity and their comprehensive competence are complementary and inter-related. This dissertation analyzed the significance of the promotion of students' comprehensive competence to the improvement of their research ability. It is proved that only by promoting their competence in analyzing and solving practical problems that they can make remarkable progress in their comprehensive competence.
