The historical status, the value and the advantages and shortcomings of grammar-translation method demonstrated in China's middle school English teaching practice, has triggered a lot of meaningful or meaningless arguments. As an English teacher, we should take into account what kind of attitude we should have as regards this relatively ancient and traditional teaching approach: direct inheritance or scientific practice, or reasonably developed or abandoned? This may have a profound impact on the effect of English teaching and on the future development of students. Based on the practice of grammar-translation method in English grammar teaching, this study puts forward an interpretation of the creative strategies in the grammar teaching performance with the help of questionnaire, case study, statistics and practice research on the way to keeping the traditional method.In the traditional sense, the system mainly refers to the lexical grammar and syntax of the system as well as knowledge of grammar structure of the system; it involves very little knowledge of grammar and syntax structure of the relationship between the system inclusive and less concerns about the hidden logic of the system. It is necessary for the learners not only to build knowledge of grammar, sentence structures and also the basic elements, but to grasp the simplified grammar system, which helps to generate an organic body with the various elements, morphology and syntax so that the practical language skills can be developed as soon as possible.
