Whether the university students can obtain employment smoothly or not is related to the harmony and justice of the society. However, at present, the situation for the university students to find a job is becoming more and more unfavorable, which makes the research on the university students'career inheritance from their parents bear great significance.This paper focuses study on the phenomenon that the university students often inherit the career from their parents when they hunt for the job for the first time. In the process of conducting the sample survey on the competitive majors including 10 arts and science classes in Jiangsu Province's five universities of different types, 800 questionnaires have been handed out while 680 valid ones have been collected. Besides that, by the interview on specific cases and the research on the relationship between the university students'means of finding the first job, working positions, incomes, natures of working places and their parent's career, natures of their working places, their respective incomes, the conclusions drawn are as follows:First, the parents'careers are positively relative to their sons or daughters'first jobs. The degree of relation is above the middle level. The higher job positions the parents hold, the greater possibilities for their assistance in helping their sons or daughters find jobs there are, the higher job positions their sons or daughters can hold, the higher income they can obtain, the more stable their jobs are.Second, the parents'incomes are positively relative to their sons or daughters'first jobs. The degree of relation is above the middle level. The higher incomes the parents get, the greater possibilities for their assistance in helping their sons or daughters find jobs there are, the higher job positions their sons or daughters can hold, the higher income they can obtain, the more stable their jobs are.Third, the means of sons or daughters'finding their jobs are positively relative to the parents'social relations (i.e. the parents'assistances in helping the sons or daughters find the first jobs). The degree of relation is above the middle level. With the help of their parents, the sons or daughters can find their first jobs with higher social positions, greater possibilities of getting higher salary and more stability.This paper analyses the reasons for the universities students'career inheritance when they find their first jobs from organizational factors as well as system, society and culture. And then, by using the Nan Lin's Social Resource Theory and the Weber's 3D Division theory, the paper conducts the study on the functions caused by individuals'factors on the university students'career inheritance on their first jobs. Finally, the model of means for the university students to obtain their first jobs can be acquired. Based on the things mentioned above, the related measures and suggestions will be further come up with.
