Gifted children education in China has obtained substantial development since the Chinese University of Science and Technology took the lead in enrolling very young students in 1978.The system of gifted children education with Chinese characteristics has emerged. In the practice of the gifted children education, most educators attached importance to the cultivation of their intellectual factors but ignored the importance of their nonintellectual factors and integrated development, which was not congruent with the objectives and strategic significance of the education. The article briefly introduced the course and the present condition of the gifted children education in China, discoursed the necessity of comprehensive development of gifted children , and how to take basic measures. On the basis of the quality-oriented education, educators should create harmonious environment, promote the moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic development of gifted children to the full, especially the cultivation of good morality and healthy personality.
