Investigation Of Learning Habits Of Preparatory Grade Students From Junior High Schools

Habits are automatic routines of behavior that are repeated regularly,without thinking.They are learned,not instinctive,human behaviors that occur automatically under certain circumference,without the explicit contemporaneous intention of the person.Once acquired,they are hard to be broke and maybe change gradually,Good habits play an important role in the development of students.Learning habits of students are unconscious patterns of behavior that have been developed through social activities, especially learning activities.Learning skills,learning methods and learning style are closely related to but there are differences we should know among them.Good learning habits will benefit students during their lifetime.Preparatory grade provides a transition from elementary school to junior high school for the students who are in the golden period for body building and knowledge learning.It's the best time to develop good habits.There are papers on habits developing for students of elementary school and junior high school in databases of documentation,but none was found for preparatory grade.This paper presents some study on the development of learning habits for preparatory grade,based on relevant principles and theories of education or psychology.Some investigation methods,such as case studies,surveys, literature studies,face to face talking are used for information collecting.First,some research achievements of domestic and foreign educators are introduced.Then investigation and analysis are made in three middle schools that have different characteristics..Focus is on the learning habits of preparation,classroom,review,and homework.Facts and problems are listed in order to draw attentions of schools and other connected facilities.Strategy,principles and methods to build good learning habits are recommended so that they can be used for reference for teachers.There are some improvements can be carried out to this research.For example,a more professional questionnaire could be provided and some other aspects of learning habit should be studied.Some training skills designed for good habit learning should be put into practice to verify the ideas and principles.In the future,I will continue the study of this topic and make it better during my teaching practice.
