Olympic Games are not only the comprehensive competition presently, but are considered as the social and cultural phenomenon, and the research angles of Olympic Games are different and verified. Operating the Olympic Games is a great systematic project, with continual development of scale and influence, more and more industries and organizations join in activities of Olympic Games, which construct complex social relations network with the Olympic Games as the corn. The key to achieve the success of Olympic Games depends on effective management on different relations.Standing on the theory of Olympic public relations, this master's thesis has summed some points of PR management with characters of Olympic Games. According to concept and nature of PR about physical education, characters, operating physicals, communicating channels can be clarified in this thesis. On the background of cross-cultural communication, PR of Olympic Games has played a great role in many social aspects, such as to improve the reputation of hosting country or city, to accelerate communication between different nations and races, to get different factors closely, and to strengthen fame of some bands.The process of operating Olympic Games is so complex from application, opening to closing, which concerns inner material integration of hosting countries, and involves verified aspects of international relations. The comprehensive characters of cross-country, cross-culture had decided some complex and verified issues, and most troublesome issues is outbursting crisis, for example, politicization of Olympic Games, terrorist attacks, scandals of bribe, news distortion. From the important points of Crisis Management, basing on the cases analysis and theoretical summary on last Olympic Games, crisis of Olympic Games will be discussed in this thesis, including types of crisis and characters of crisis. On the base of background, reason and result of crisis, achievements and mistakes will be summarized from cases analysis.The great influence of Olympic Games is the reason why it can be the focus of many medias. Once some emergent affairs burst out, reports of media will enlarge negative effect brought by emergent affairs, so media relations management should be the very important link in Pr management. In this thesis, media relations management is written as the independent chapter to put emphasis on complex and importance of media relations management, including summary analysis of media roles, basic principles and so on. Standing on PR management of Olympic Games, strategic suggestion will be raised in the thesis in order to give some useful and operative advice to 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
