A Preliminary Study On Questionaire Compilation On Chongqing College Student Love And Marriage Conceptions And Educational Policy Implications

As the social,economic and political reform enters into deeper territories,and under the influence of multiculturalism,people's many ideas are experiencing rapid changes.As an elite group among the youth,college students are a group mostly most easily impacted by social trends.Love and marriage is an important task in their life stage,and is a sensative topic closely watched by researchers.How to construct a scientific and rational love marriage value system,better handle the relations among love,study and family,these directly impact the healthy growth of the college students.This is not only an internal need fo their personal overall development,but also a problem worth the attention of college magement and administrators.Currently,in foreign countries,there are relatively fewer studies on speficically on college student marriage value conceptions,but focus more to areas related to love and sex conceptions.In China,although there are many studies on college student marriage conceptions,researchers mostly look at the issue from sociological, educational perspectives.There is a lack of research sucha as using self explained questionaire to study the structure and characteristics of college student marriage conceptions,and using psychology perspective to study the processes.There is also a lack of mature test chart for college student marriage perceptions.This research bases on literature overview,open-ended questionnaire survey,college student interview and expert instructions,proposes a theoretic framework about love and marriage value perceptions,and compiled a Chongqing college student love and marriage value survey questionnaire.Using this questionnaire,the research surveyed about 900 college students from 6 Chongqing colleges,conducted a horizontal comparison study on college student love and marriage values,making comparisons with characteristics of sex,grade,major type,economic conditions, original district,love and marriage status,single child,and then proposed educational policy suggestions.The major results are:(1) College student love and marriage value views are a multi-level and multi-dimensional psychological structure.This research used two sets of questionnaire about love and marriage respectively,and found out that love perceptions are composed of five dimensions including love dedication,love tolerance,love persistence,love closeness,love reliance;Marriage value system are composed of five dimensions including marriage sentimentality,marriage rationality,marriage forecast,marriage loyalty,marriage cultural perspective.(2) Self compiled "college student love and marriage value system questionnaire" went through project analysis,factor analysis,trust and validity test,proves to have good trust and reliability.Its internal concordance coefficient,test and retest,content validity and construct validity are good.The questionnaire is suitable for use as a test instrument for college student love and marriage value perceptions.(3) College student general performance on marriage perspective are:they emphasize heavily on the sensational factors in marriage;having imagination and expectations for marriages;Having higher loyalty score;On spouse selection,emphasize self feeling,are not easily influenced by social factors,can rationally treat marriage.(4) College student general performance on love conceptions are:having higher dedication scores;showing more reliance on their lovers;Having high degree of love persistence;have medium acceptance rate to closeness;lower score on love tolerance.
