Social connectedness is defined as an aspect of the self that reflects subjective awareness of interpersonal closeness with the social world in toto. Social connectedness is characterized as a type of relational schema or "cognitive structure representing regularities in patterm of interpersonal relatedness".The enduring sense of connectedness provides people with a social lens with which to perceive the world in which they live.On the basis of Chinese culture backgroud and the current situation of social connectedness,this research takes 750 students in Henan public university as samples. From the student's perspective,this research tries to revise the social connectedness questionnaire through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis,and developes a three-factor of questionnair. The research tools are the revised social connectedness scale,self-acceptance scale and China college student adjustment scale. The research tries to discuss the difference among demographic variables. It also discusses the relationship between the social connectedness and adjustment, and the moderator role in the relationship between social connectedness and adjustment. The study reaches conclusions as follows:Firsrly,the revised social connectedness scale includes thirteen items,and the structure of it is composed of three dimensions. Thid questionnaire has good reliability and validity.Secondly,There are significant differences in social connectedness and adjustment different in some demographic variables (such as in general,grade).The social connectedness is extremely correlated with college student adjustment. Different dimensions of social connectedness have significant influence on college student adjustment.Thirdly, The dimension of self-acceptance has moderating effects on the relationship between social connectedness and college student adjustment.
