| Unarmed Combat on Pegs is an event of Wushu gongli competition. It is developed from both historical plum-blossom stake exercise and Taiji pushing hands. The national gongli competition become increasingly regularized and scientific after five sessions in Foshan(Guangdong), Shenzhen(Guangdong), Zhengzhou(Henan), Guangzhou(Guangdong) and Wenzhou(Zhejiang). As a regular event ever from the first session, unarmed combat on pegs become popular accompany with the competition. However, the event has no systematic and well-recognized training mode up to now.Through watching games and analysing results, the author found that there were no systematic strategy consciousness among athletes whose technique mainly focused on Tui, Bo or Shuai. Also, it was difficult for athletes to revive the inner feature of this event, which is "Brisk and skillful"as single offensive or defensive strategy was only used among athletes. It is obviously that coaches and athletes are practictioner of technique and strategy in the frontier. However, they only cared about the application and research of easy technique and strategy which would be sure of quick winning, also, there were no communications between different teams. Thus, it was difficult to form, to promote and to popularize systematic technique and strategy which could be used in training as well as in competition. Therefore, to form a training mode of technique and strategy which will satisfy different phases including learning, practicing and competition became an urgent problem in the development of the event. The author searched and collected materials of unarmed combat on pegs through ways such as interviewing scholars and experts, reviewing references, taking part in the workshop of coaches and referees in national gongli competition and in the training of Wushu gongli team and watching games. Methods including consulting references, interviewing experts and observing training and competition were used in this research. Through classifying, summarizing and analysing landmark technique and strategy, the author extracted special qualities as well as technical and tactical capabilities and suggested a specialized training mode including these factors. There were tweleve kinds of techniques listed such as Tui, Lv, Lie, Bo, An, Cai, Kao, Jiatuo, Baoshuai and Xuanda, one to three examples for each kind of technique and totally twenty-two examples were all described in detail. Different levels of training was gradually arranged from single technique training to integrated single technique training, then to technique training of controling and disturbing rivals' balance, then to conditional combat training and finally to combat training on pegs. In each stage, different forms of exercise including meditation, simulation, feeding and so on were applied. In order to promote audience and practitioner to understand and master, technique and its training were discussed through showing figures and pointing out essentials. Under the general principle of "attack whenever facing effort and to acquire vertical reach through horizontal endeavour", strategy training were arranged among active attack strategy, defensive back strategy, swiftly transforming strategy, psychological strategy and pushing competitors down strategy. During the strategy training, diverse training including meditation and action training, analysis of competition examples training, simulation training, conditional training, combat training on pegs were applied in order to formulate strategy consciousness and to elevate the ability to flexible control technology and strategy. The choice of training content and training methods depends on specialized mode, regulation of competition and factors including the aimed level and stage of technique and strategy. The technique and strategy should be equally emphasized just like two combined hands. On the one hand, comprehensive and skillful technique is the basis which will be sure of the application of strategy, on the other hand, strategy is a lesson on how to use technique and is the sublimation of technique. Therefore, technique and strategy training should be linked and connected whenever in different kinds of practice and competition. This research will supply training principles which is step by step as well as easy to learn and use for amateurs, enrich technical and tactic research on theory and training contents, improve athletes' technique and strategy levels, promote the event as a more competitive and welcome competition and promote the event's development. This exploration on technique and strategy system of unarmed combat on pegs arms to make the event more exciting and easier to be promoted and popularized, attract more people to participate in Wushu to keep fit, enrich the theoretical research of Wushu, and give some suggests on the sustainable development of Wushu after Olympic Games. |
