Beijing Sport University,the only key university under the General Administration of Sport,became one of the members of "211 project" in 2005.According to Circular of the General Officeof the State Council Concerning Transmitting Suggestions Submitted by the Ministry of Education and other departments on adjusting management system of affiliated schools under General Administration of Sport and the demand of General Administration of sport,Beijing Sport University has changed its direction into the combination of education,training and science research.The school also established "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" Through its fulfillment,Beijing Sport University is striding forward to be one of the world first-class sport universities.As the most important teaching places,sport gymnasiums is directly on the mission of realization of "education,training and science research",its functional maturity plays an important role in school' s development.Nowadays,there are many thesis which discuss and study the construction and management of sport gymnasiums,but few of them research their function and feasibility for school' s education.Through researching the function of gymnasiums in Beijing Sport University, including kind,number,square meters for each person,choosing and using of ground,the relation between gymnasium and attached rooms,management of gymnasium and feasibility for education,moreover,through the comparison between domestic and foreign correlative gymnasiums,the author concludes experience of decades' construction,feasibility for school education and measures for improvement,which can offer some advice for Beijing Sport University and other universities.
