Yang Dongchun was a educator to be forgotten who had made significant contributions in education domain in modern China.He once worked as a secondary school teacher,university professor and presided over the short-term cadre training.He had been teaching for nearly 25 years.With the help of Li Dazhao and Deng Zhongxia,Yang Dongchun began to accept Marxist theory and participated in various academic lectures and student presentations actively in Beijing University.He joined the study of Marxist in 1921.Yang Dongchun followed Liu Zhanglong to propagandise Marxist among workers after the founding of Chinese Communist Party.When the white terror was over the land of China,He went abroad to Japan alone and started to devote himself to the study of dialectical materialism and historical materialism and tried to be a translator.In the 1930s,Yang Dongchun took every efforts to develop education between the forces of complex contradictions in the National Unification areas.He was in charge of Hua Zhong Normal university Guang Xi University after liberation.In the long-term practice of teaching,Yang Dongchun accumulated a great deal of educational experience that is a valuable asset and worth learning.The thesis is divided into five parts to expound Yang's educational ideology and practice.The first part consists of three aspects including the reasons of writing,present studing conditions and the meanings of studying.The second part deals with all of his life.The third part discusses Yang's educational practice.The author makes full use of accurate historical materials and tries to make a complete statement about Yang's educational practice.The fourth part devotes to the contents of Yang's educational ideology.The author analyses and concludes the issue thoroughly on the following aspects:the mission,the content of education,the principles of education,the methods and so on.The fifth part evaluates Yang's educational ideology and practice.On the basis of above four parts,the author summarizes the characters of Yang's educational ideology and practice and analyses its influence,giving an objective,just and fair evaluation.
