It is known to all that Lin yutang is a writer and translator who "both feet on Chinese and western cultures,and one heart on the essays on the universe".However,he is seldom mentioned as an advocate of modern education.Call him education advocates,not only because the beginning of the 20 th century in Beijing,xiamen,Shanghai and other places of teaching in colleges and universities for many years,as Beijing female normal university provost and director of xiamen university,college of liberal arts and the principal of nanyang university;In the early 1930 s,he compiled a series of middle school English textbooks in Shanghai,such as the enlightened English reader,which won him the title of "textbook king".Besides,it also puts forward many critical Suggestions on basic education in Taiwan.In his life,he took western culture and education as the reference,and on the basis of sublating the old education system in China,he made many insightful comments on the purpose of education,the construction of teachers,the teaching methods,the art of reading and personal cultivation.Serious study of Lin yutang's education thought,for the development of today's education benefits.Unfortunately,there is still no systematic research on Lin yutang's educational ideology.This essay is divided into three parts:Chapter one is an era review of Lin Yutang's educational thought.Based on the author's own works,this essay discusses the basis of Lin yutang's educational thoughts and the modernity of Lin yutang's educational thoughts through the analysis of his educational theories.Chapter two,the educational practice of Lin yutang.By Lin yutang rich and unique teaching cases in teaching practice,further verify the rationality of his education thoughts from the side,to better provide ideal education paradigm.Chapter three,The origin analysis of Lin Yutang's educational thought and its echo with The Times.This chapter mainly reveals the permeating relationship between Lin yutang's humanistic care and the formation of personality.first of all,from Lin yutang's age background,family growth,geographical environment,studying experience,traditional culture and western culture exerts influence,analyses the reasons for the formation of his humanistic care education thoughts.Secondly,on the basis of summing up the significance ofLin yutang's educational ideology,this paper analyzes the reference and value of his educational ideology to the quality-oriented education.This paper attempts to examine Lin yutang's education ideology and education practice from two aspects,Lin yutang as a cultural talent side--modern quality-oriented education advocates and practitioners,so that we can see as a writer,philosopher,translator Lin yutang and educator Lin yutang in a variety of identity spark collision,mutual achievements,for our current educational reform to provide a reference.
