In the 1930-1940s, our country was suffered by Japanese silt aggression and the board area was unsettled. As the mainland became further slide, men of insight proposed to exploit borderland and consolidate national defense, stirring up the research on the frontier history since The Second Opium War. National Government also took some measures to develop the frontier, so plenty of folk joined in opening up borderland positively and declared themselves through the magazine, educational problems were included in the discussion. The paper will be based on the journal in the Republic of China to investigate the contemporaries’ ideology of education.The paper will be divided into four parts. In the first part, I will introduce the background of the ideology, mainly in borderland crisis, the tide of developing the northwest and the spirit of the age. In the second part, I will deal with particular about the ideology. Including how the contemporaries think about the frontier and how to define the borderland education, which suggestions had been proposed. In the third part, I will take SuiYuan as typical example to study the development of education in the frontier by individual case. In the fourth part, I will deal with the characteristics of the ideology and its referential significance.By combing the suggestions of frontier education of intellectuals between 1931-1945, the author thinks that during this period, the theory up and down with The anti Japanese War, and rely on the Kuomintang government policy, providing decision-making reference and the scholars’theory is a blend of fieldwork results, becoming more practical.
