Normal colleges function as cradles of teachers for fundmental education.Maths Departments in normal colleges have the sacred duty to provide qualified teachers for elementary and sencondary school.Maths majors are reserve force for those schools.With a view to lower the difficulty of pre-service and in-service training,reform the training of maths teachers in colleges,and strengthen the role of maths majors in the developing of a qualified teacher,this study carried out self-developing among maths majors and proposed raising strategies to solve problems in college education practices.With the use of documentation method,interview method, comparison method,narration method and survey method etc,the study has been carried out in Class 010223 Maths Department Shangqiu Normal College Henan since 2001;all the subjects experienced maths teaching through lecturing,self-evaluating, self-evaluated and evaluating others to practise teaching techniques for qualified maths teachers.The thesis can be divided into two parts:Part one focuses on maths majors' self-developing,it goes through several stages,such as current situation survey, planning,plan carrying out,having results,condition change, plan adjusting,seeking for evidence,practice extension and etc,and makes reflection and readjusting of practices.Part two is mainly about the strategies on maths majors' self-developing of profession.On the basis of practice and survey,it proposes principles,requirements,strategies, models and methods of profession self-developing.Main achievements of this study are summarized as follows: it is necessary and practical to carry out professional self-developing among maths majors.Mutural evaluating of lectures is beneficial to the development of teaching profession,majors become active during the training;Tutors play a key role in maths majors' training prosess,and a united community with the awareness of profession is also available.Problems might disrupt into the training for the scarcity of tutors' instructing and thoughts on curriculum reform among normal college students.With the change of roles of subjects in the process, discussion and reflections on the practice,the study comes to a conclusion as to how to strengthen self-developing in maths majors' profession growing,practising step by step; emphasizing the tutors' guidance,establishing a community of colleges and primary,secondary schools;proposing two different training models according to the length of schooling, "0.5+2+0.5 model" and "1+2.5+0.5 model",to construct the profession training model.It shows a new approach to survey the growth of a normal college student majored in Maths;it finds a new method to examine the development of a maths major to maths teaching profession;it provides a reference route for maths majors and normal colleges in pre-service professional training process.
