A Study About Professional Developing Necessity Of Maths Teachers In Rural Middle School

With the great development of the science and technology, the Chinese government has put forward a plan for building a harmonious society, which must rely on the citizen of ability with high quality .But, Improving the quality of citizen must depend on education. I think the key of education is teachers. They are playing important role reforming and improving teaching quality.I am a maths teacher in a middle school of the countryside. I think that maths is very important to mould a qualified citizen, to propel the society forward and to influence the whole nation. But most middle school teachers in countryside still use traditional ways because of the poor conditions. How can fine maths culture be passed down and achieve a fairly comfortable standard of living?Because of the poor development of the most country maths teachers, I want to do some research on the necessity of professional development of the rural moths teachers. Thus, In order to know more about some problems, such as lack of professional spirits, imbalanced knowledge structure, poor abilities of mathematic scientific research, the sub-health of the teachers and so on, I investigated 80 maths teachers of 9 Middle schools in my county by interviewing and question-and-answer activity. By way of comparisons, analysis, experiments, I would like to show the present conditions and cause. Also, I think it a good method to charge up by self-teaching, teaching by correspondence and training .so as to strengthen the basic teaching abilities, we should combine it with the arts of language and IT to reach the final aim of developing subject resources, improving the scientific research ability and living conditions and the awareness of the necessity of the professional development.Now, I want to share my ideas with you so that others may come up with valuable opinions. I hope every one of us can pay more attention to the maths teachers in Middle school of countryside. We should change them into professional teachers and help them renew the teaching methods and ideas. We should make them become ture researchers in the field of maths. We also help students take in the nutrition of the "mathematic tree" and try their best to be a person of ability with much knowledge.
