A Survey On The Current Status Of The Athletes' General Knowledge Course Education Of JiLin Province And Its Countermeasures

The current society is a society of economy linked with knowledge, which requires people to have high standard of knowledge and skills. In the short term, athletes will benefit from better knowledge basis which can help them in understanding within training, learning sports skills, bringing forth of new ideas and showing stable psychological quality in competitions. As for those sports items which need body language, the makings and the ability of art performance of the athletes are the results of long-term knowledge accumulation, which cannot be strengthened in a short period of time. We can say that better education is the key for the athletes to raise their comprehensive quality and improve their sports level. In the long term, a person who is only strong in the arms and legs but lacks culture and knowledge will not suit the fierce social competition. With high rate of elimination, the structure for the athletes to be success is just like a pyramid. Some young athletes who are still teenagers or just a little over twenty have to face the problem of looking for jobs. Therefore, our education should aim at improving the athletes'knowledge basis.Take Jilin province as an example, the quality of the athletes'knowledge directly affects the development of their sports level and improvement. Effective work has been carried out by the departments concerned who have made great progress in deepening the reform of education system and strengthening scientific research. The education for the excellent athletes of our province has been improved. But, all in all, the degree of attaching importance on the education is not enough.Hence, I have made a survey on the current status of the education on athletes of Jilin province. The survey object includes 270 persons (30 teachers and 240 athletes). It was carried out through methods of documents data, inquiry, visiting and statistical.Lastly, I have made some countermeasures for reference on the issue which I hope will be helpful for the government departments to make principles, policies and measures on the education of athletes.
