Students' work is an indispensable part of school teaching and learning. It is an important way for students to consolidate the knowledge they learned, to develop good learning habits, and to promote a harmonious development of body and mind. Students' work is not only the most practical and unavoidable issue in the school, but also one of the most concerned issues in the field of educational research. Many teachers make a large number of explorations in their process of teaching with a result of some useful experience, but they still remain at the level of practical experience with a lack of systematic theoretical research. Most of the educational researchers think that the problems of the students' work are caused by the current "examination-oriented education", but their researches are mainly restricted in the scope of teaching theory with few from other perspectives. After detailed analysis of the problems, the author points out that the "examination-oriented education" is merely the external cause of the current problems, while the root and underlying cause is the traditional concept of knowledge. With the arrival of knowledge economy era and the new development of contemporary knowledge conception, the traditional students' work cannot accord with the expected new paradigm of students' knowledge learning. It also cannot meet the new requirements of students' development advanced by the new age. Besides, the reform of students' work is unable to consist with the transformation of the contemporary knowledge conception. All these contradictions make the traditional students' work to be a more prominent issue.Literature research method is used as the main research method in this thesis. The author arranges and analyzes a large number of literatures related to the knowledge conception and the students' work from a historical perspective. Based on various types of research achievements, the author forms a new theoretical framework and proposes some implications to the reform of students' work. This thesis can be divided into five parts:Firstly, the paper discusses the causes and reasons of the research on students' work, elaborates the meaning and value of this research, defines the relevant concepts, and describes the basic idea and the research methods of this study.Secondly, the author explores the transformation of knowledge conception from a historical perspective, analyses the relationship between the concept of knowledge and the school education, and discusses the impact of transformation of knowledge conception on educational reform.Thirdly, the author hackles the historical evolution of the students' work, explains the relationship between the concept of knowledge and students' work, and analyses the reform of students' work from the angle of knowledge conception.Furthermore, the current status of the students' work is detailedly described in this part, and their problems and causes are deeply analyzed as well.Last but not least, the contemporary development of knowledge conception is elaborated from the perspective of nature, types and values. Based on these, the author gives some implications to the reform of students' work from the aspect of the transformation of knowledge conception.
