Chinese 'Full-time compulsory education mathematics curriculum standard (Experimental Manuscript)' requires to choose realistic and interesting materials in the process of compiling textbooks. Thus, establishing situations related to students' reality has been paid attention by compilers of mathematics textbooks and educators.On the other hand, with the reform of mathematics curriculum developed gradually in many countries, how to improve students' space conception, geometry direct perception and inference ability, has been gradually concerned and attached highly. And to the above two aspects of exploration, Russian textbook 'Audio-Visual Geometry' has provided us with lots of valuable experiences.In Chapter one, relevant literature are sorted out of the thesis in detail. In Chapter two, using the model of comparing and analyzing textbooks which established by the related comparison and study of textbooks, I did some summary comparison and analysis to the entire system of the three kinds of textbooks from the curriculum background, the structure and the contents of textbook.In Chapter three, for the characteristics of the textbooks-the establishment of the situations, the comparative study mainly contains the following aspects:Firstly, according to the types of situations in PISA (2006), count the number of different situations appeared in every textbooks to compare the proportion of all kinds of situations.Secondly, according to 'Chinese Full-time compulsory education mathematics curriculum standard (experimental manuscript)', Space and Shape mainly contains 'Understanding of Shape', 'Measurement', 'Shape and transformation' and 'Shape and Location'. Compare whether the situations mainly distributed in certain part mentioned above.Thirdly, compare the differences of playing the role of establishing situations in developing students' space conception by specific contents.By comparison, the following conclusions are obtained:Firstly, the three countries all pay attention to establishing situations to help students' geometry learning in their own curriculum background. And they establish textbooks according to the logical order of the discipline knowledge. But Russian and American still abstract some objects from daily life and make them as some units' titles. In the aspect of the contents of textbooks, Russian and American textbooks all choose some knowledge about Topology, however, our not. In the part of Measurement, our and Russian textbooks establish more contents. All the textbooks pay attention to the situations establishing in specific column.Secondly, although the three textbooks all pay attention to the establishment of scientific situation, it is different from using them to develop students' space conception. Russian textbook displays more well than other two.Thirdly, in the aspect of establishing situations linked with daily life, our textbook chooses the materials around the educational and personal situations more than the public situations. However, Russian textbook establishes more public situations.Fourth, the more contents of every part established, the more situations distributed in them. At this point, our and Russian textbooks displays no apparent differences.Finally, based on the entire comparison and analysis in the thesis, I proposed several individual opinions and views for the compiling works of our elementary mathematics books in the aspect of 'pace and Shape' in the future.
