Research On Direction Of Student Affairs Reform In Local University

Student affairs in Chinese universities need change. Economy development is full of uncertainty, pressure of professional market is great. Being one kind of organization for human resources development, universities should guarantee personal development of students, and help them to get proper chance of profession. It demands new purpose and new duty of student affairs in universities. The thesis is based on this point of view, student affairs in universities is regarded as guarantee system of human resources development. The thesis tries to find how to improve current working system of student affairs, and focus on promoting self-learning and self-selection and self-development.The thesis looks back the history of student affairs reform, points out Chinese researchers follow the direction of higher education in the world, have new ideas of student service. They have believed the function of self-management, but can't execute very well. Student affairs depend on policy, specialization of staff keep lower, especially student affairs is separated from academy affairs. Learning-guide service can't be involved in student service.In order to find out situation of student affairs in Chinese local universities and colleges, this study investigated four universities and colleges. Through questionnaire and interview it gathered lots of information from students and staff, then based on that it discuss the current shortage and possibility of learning guarantee system promotion.This study makes contrast among different countries or districts, such as America, Britain, France; Germany; Hong Kong; Taiwan. It analyzed difference in purpose and system, organization and staff. It seeks for system and experience as an example.Finally on the basis of investigation and compare, the thesis presents ideas on student affairs reform, and discusses some suggestions after cases analysis.
