The Practice Of The People-first Thought In College Student Affairs Administration

People-first is the core of the scientific concept of development, the basicvalues of modern education, and the inevitable requirement to ensure colleges anduniversities administration. Institution of higher learning is an important position tostudy and promote the Marxism. The college student affairs administration is theimportant component of colleges and universities administration. To achieve the goalof personnel training in colleges and universities, it plays an irreplaceable guaranteeand support role, whose management concept and the level will directly affect thequality of talent cultivation. In college student affairs management adhere to the"people-oriented" concept, the students’ main role and affirmation of the main body position,emphasize fully respecting students, understanding students, care for students, not only paidattention to material needs, spiritual needs and concerns.Facing the huge challenge of social transformation, the original student affairsmanagement concept, working method and interior dilemma facing external challenges, such asthe concept of service is not perfect, the degree of specialization is low problem, the collegesand universities need to update their management idea in the ideological field andmake feasible operation way clear in actual job urgently. This paper aims to explore thecollege student affairs management service concept and working method, on the basis of practice,and strive to a more systematic exposition of the people-oriented concept is applied to theadministration of student affairs work in a specific strategy. This paper, using the basictheory of Marxism in management and education, in the profound understanding theconnotation, objectives, significance and principles of “people-first” and “collegestudent affairs administration”, analyses the links between them. In the support oftheoretical and environmental foundation, this thesis tries to interpret the practice ofpeople-first in college student affairs management, and discusses the developmenttrend of college student affairs management in China, combining with thecharacteristics of the times.
