With the transformation of social structure and the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization, various family-related issues have arised continuously, there is an urgent to take relevant measures to solve them; and there are three issues faced with in social work services to families: (1) recognition of professional status is low; (2) lack of available public resources; (3) difficult to maintain balance between family and individual development. Dissemination, training of family therapy models in the field of psychiatry and psychology are impossible to completely solve these problems in theory. Clinical and practical application of research and development is also very slow. Most of previous researches focus on describing behavioral characteristics, intervention effect and analyzing simple process. There is few a long-term tracking research on family service. In view of this, based on a social worker's intervention in family, this research applies case study, aiming to find out social work intervention strategy which can help effectively the families. This research is an exploratory tracking study of social work intervening problem families.The counseling and interview process of this research was executed in SUCCESS School, Xiamen. In this study, The research explores a new family social work model in practice based on strengths perspective, which advocates assessing and integrating strengths of family. The study finds this new model assesses their own abilities and needs of the family and members comprehensive and dynamic through changing concerns, grasping comprehensive and emphasizing on the interaction; develop and integrate the strengths of individuals and families through establishing clear objective, cycle strategies and by concrete action. Then enable families to cope with their own lives better. The service intervention strategy deals with the three difficulties effectively in family social work services. In theory, This study adds to traditional and post-modern theory of family therapy model through introducing the strengths perspective based on the critical absorption. Then shape a new theory of family intervention, which emphasis on treatment, prevention and development together. At the same time, this study modifies the strengths perspective in theory by proposing two concepts: interaction between system and connect through action.
