In recent years, the emotional management skills of teenagers have received more and more attention from all walks of life.As the divorce rate in China rises, teenagers from single-parent families are increasingly becoming a key group of attention in society.Due to the long-term exceptional environment of less communication and multiple guidance, this group of teenagers has a sense of abandonment over time, which leads to their psychological sensitivity, natural suspiciousness, insecurity, and other personalities. The lack of emotional management skills has become a common problem in hindering mental health and complete personality formation of teenagers from single-parent families.Without timely intervention, emotional issues will negatively affect the healthy development of teenagers from single-parent families.Based on the above background, this study adopted the social work case model and consciously selected teenagers from single-parent families as the research object.Firstly, through questionnaires, psychometric scales, interviews, and participatory observation, the basic information of the case subjects was collected, the current situation and problems of the case subjects’ emotion management were estimated, and the causes of the problems were analyzed in a more in-depth multi-dimension.Based on the professional philosophy and professional theory of social work,a case service plan was developed. After that, based on the theory of strengths and social support, and including four aspects: emotional cognition,self-motivation,emotional expression and adjustment, and social support network reconstruction, the intervention services were provided to case subjects.Through approaches such as knowledge learning, narrative therapy, situational exercises, etc.,the case subjects were guided to improve their emotional cognition level, focus on their strengths to form self-motivation,cultivate their rational emotional expression and adjustment ability, and build the good interpersonal relationships;and the result was to fundamentally improve the emotional management skills of the case subjects,as well as to promote their healthy growth and smooth socialization. Finally, through the evaluation of the case process and results, the effects of this intervention services were comprehensively analyzed. The evaluation results showed that the scores of "Interpersonal Sensitivity","Anxiety Emotion" and "Emotional Impulsivity" of the case subjects were in the normal range. The effects of this intervention services were more remarkable, and the emotional management skills of the case subjects had been effectively improved.Generally speaking, casework studies of the improvement of emotional management skills of teenagers from single-parent families from a strengths perspective found that the use of casework to intervene in the dynamic management of teenagers from single-parent families is effective, which can focus on the case subjects more accurately, better solve their emotional dilemmas, and effectively improve their emotional management skills. However,on this basis,a reflection on the study revealed that there are still the following shortcomings:(1)social workers lack professional competence and are prone to ethical dilemmas;(2)the continuity of services for case subjects is lacking, resulting in difficulty in ensuring long-term effectiveness and effective evaluation;(3)the practical process lacks diversity and attractiveness;(4)the study lacks universality and generalization. Therefore, the author actively makes suggestions and outlooks,as follows: in the future studies, not only consolidate the theoretical foundation, but also combine theory and practice,to improve the professional service ability of social workers;innovate service content and maximize the function of intervention services;focus on the research field, and deeply study in the improvement of emotional management skills of teenagers from single-parent families.
