Nowadays,research on children from single-parent families is quite rich,with a focuses on the academic difficulties of children of single-parent families,as the academic difficulties not only affect the students' academic performance but also lead to a variety of behavior problems.Therefore,domestic and foreign scholars based on different disciplines and studied the academic difficules from different perspectives.In view of the limitations of existing research,from the strenths perspective,the author observed the single-parent students in class 6,grade 7 of “w”middle school in “L” city through on-the spot investigation,interview and action researth method.Then he interviewed different subjucts,identified the client and investigated the academic difficulties.After the client was determined,under the guaidance of the the strengths perspective,the author interviewed the teachers and students around him,collected the information,and then developed a Intervention plan after defining and evaluating the collected information of the academic problems of the client.The significance of this article lies in that the author paid full attention to the potential of the owner;believed that the owner possessed the possibility of improvement;helped the owner find his own advantages,resistance and the surrounding resources to promote self-confidence and resistance;and finally built a social support network to help the client to solve his academic difficulties.
