An Inquiry Of The Model Standards Of Arts Teachers(K-12) In The United States

To promote the quality of arts teachers is the requirements of arts education.But the excellent arts teachers rely on the standards of arts teachers.To compare,our requirements in ability of instruction for the arts teachers are lower than the United States and we have no strict special standards for them.To analyses the contents of the model standards of arts teachers(K-12) in the United States,we can find out its' contributions and learn from them,such as reforming arts education,setting up the standards of arts teachers,the instruction of arts.This will influence on the quality of our arts teachers and their techniques from theory to practice.The preface explains the reasons for doing the research,introduces the present researching situation of this issue at home and abroad,sums up ancient study productions' innovations and shortages,on the basis of this,and then introduces the values of this study.The first part of the body analyses the background of the model standards of arts teachers(K-12) in the United States, which includes promoting the quality of arts teachers form all around in USA and the situation of arts.So the model standards of arts teachers(K-12) are formulated by INTASC.The second part of the body introduces on the contents of ten standards,including the knowledge of subject matter, instructional strategies and so on.The third part of the body elaborates the functions of model standards of arts teachers(K-12).The fourth part of the body elaborates characteristics and the problems with it.The characteristics include the philosophy of serving students and taking student as centre,emphasizing creative arts education,arts integrated instruction and personalized education.But the model standards of arts teachers(K-12) also have some problems such as the insufficient requirements about teachers' morality in their career and the shortage of necessary flexibility.The fifth part of the body analyses the consultation and enlightenment that our country's standards of arts teachers.The paper holds that we should accelerate the process of setting up the standards of arts teachers which can use the model standards of arts teachers(K-12) in the United States for reference.And the standards should promote the development of arts teachers specialization and emphasize creative instruction and arts integrated instruction.
