From questionnaires to middle school teachers of fine arts during training them, some problems are found obstructing the New Curricula Standard from being put in practice due to the teachers'defects in their teaching and research. Following ideas of action research advocated in curricula teaching reform, we employ many methods to enhance fine arts teachers'professional ability in our teaching and research. Many effective training ways, including special topic training, teaching research based on schools'concrete situation, teaching research on cases and etc., are employed to solve the specific problems in fine arts education, aiming at enhancing teachers'comprehensive ability in consistence with the keystone of new curricula reform. These problems lie in teachers'onefold professional knowledge and skill, indifference to scientific research and curricula development, lack of reflection and incapability of handling various problems emerging during putting curricula into practice. Besides, many exploring work has been done concerning curricula conformity, project research, developing curricula resource and enhancing teachers'morals. The aims are achieved to improve fine arts teachers'ability and level, train qualified teachers to meet the need of curricula reform and development in fine arts education in middle schools.
