Self-regulated reading is an essential requirement for lifelong learning in the learning society.It's also essential for individual's access to knowledge and the development of capacity in an information society.The so-called self-regulated reading,on the base of self-regulated learning theory,is a new mode which also refers to the process and practice of mental activity in teacher-guided self-established goal of reading,self-monitoring of reading activities and self-evaluation.Self-regulated reading in the classroom needs to break the shackles of the traditional Chinese teaching,catch up with the requirements of times and avoid idleness in the process of reading.In this study,this paper characters the self-regulated learning theory and language teaching theory by the methods of literature analysis,classroom observation and questionnaires.In view of the current middle school's self-regulated reading status and problems,the main factors concerning the middle school students' self-regulated reading are explored in order to find:effective strategies which improve the students learning ability and the ability to take the initiative and enhance their understanding of knowledge and the content of the text as well as promote independent thinking.This thesis deliberates this in three parts:Partâ… :the status and problems of Chinese self-regulated reading in middle schools. According to the current Chinese curriculum standards and classroom practice,this part combines with the specific cases in classroom teaching and analysis of survey data on self-regulated reading in middle school to discuss the following three prombles. They are the weaken of basic language knowledge learning,a low sustainability in self-regulated reading and the lack of meaning construction in a text.Partâ…¡:the relevant factors of self-regulated reading.It analyses motivation,reading methods,the usage of learning resources and the evaluation of learning results which deepen the understandings of the reasons mentioned above as well as serve as a reference to strategies provided in part three.Partâ…¢:self-regulated reading strategies of Chinese in middle school.This part from four aspects aims at solving school students problems in self-regulated reading.These four aspects involve setting short-term goals of reading,scheduling reading time both in classroom and outside,strengthening the association between old and new knowledge and self-evaluating their reading practice.
